9 Pageant Interview Tips from Princess Diaries

Developing your pageant interview skills should be a top priority.

After all, it's where pageants are won.

I believe that every contestant should leave her pageant interview feeling proud of her performance.

But sometimes it can be hard to know what it takes to set yourself up for a good pageant interview.

So this week I thought it would be fun to review the movie Princess Diaries.

As I’m sure you’re familiar Amelia gets the shock of her life when she finds out that she’s a princess.

She then undergoes princess etiquette classes and some of the things she learns are transferable to pageantry!

So enjoy 9 pageant tips from Princess Diaries.

1.Present yourself like a titleholder.

2.Always introduce yourself before taking a seat.

3.Smile and maintain eye contact with the judges.

4.When you sit down always cross your ankles, never cross your legs.

5.Sit up straight to maintain good posture.

6.Be mindful of your facial expressions.

7.Take a few seconds to think before you answer the question.

8.If you find yourself speaking too fast, take a deep breath and slow it down.

9.When the interview is over thank the judges for taking the time to be there.
