Miss World Cayman Islands Seeking Contestants for 2021 Pageant

The 3rd annual Miss World Cayman Islands (MWCI) pageant will take place on Saturday, 27 March 2021.

The MWCI Committee is now accepting application forms and the deadline is Friday, 25 September 2020. Applications are available at dmsbroadcasting.ky or email missworldcayman@gmail.com. The contestants journey is planned to begin in November.

The pageant is open to Caymanian women who are between the ages of 18-25, with no children, never married and who have a desire to represent the Cayman Islands at the Miss World Final.

The 2020 MWCI pageant which was scheduled for Saturday, 29 August was canceled due to the global pandemic, COVID-19.

This news came on the heels of the announcement that the 70th annual Miss World Final was pushed back to the latter part of 2021.

Ms. Ebanks-Small expressed that she believed the decision to postpone the Miss World Final was the right one. She shared, “I think the decision was definitely a good one, I support it and I think most people do. I think all the franchise holders were happy about it. Many of us could not have pageants this year due to COVID and trying to ask for sponsorship was definitely going to be difficult."

She continued, "I believe the decision that Miss World took was probably a very difficult one. It is their 70th anniversary this year and they had planned a big event in Thailand, with a lot of exciting things happening."

The MWCI pageant offers young Caymanian women an opportunity to compete in the Miss World Pageant Final - the most prestigious pageant featuring over 100 contestants each year.
